Focus on the Crocus! The Rotary International Thanks for Life campaign.

RIBI is working with The Eden Project and the International Flower Bulb Centre (IBC) in Holland to plant purple crocus bulbs from the beginning of October so they will be in flower for Rotary Day – 23 February 2011.

The Big Bulb Plant - it’s bloom time!

All the hard work planting bulbs for The Big Bulb Plant in autumn is paying off now, as communities who got together to dig in last year can now see swathes of colourful daffodils and tulips bursting into colour all around them.

Over 500 communities have signed up!

Over 500 communities have signed up to take part in The Big Bulb Plant. This is wonderful news - everyone is getting on their wellies and getting outside and spending some time working together to make their area beautiful. At Banham in Norfolk 60 people, including lots of children all got involved, and Spike the hedgehog from Breckland Council was there to help too! Here’s a picture of them getting stuck into planting!

Ladywell Village Improvement Group encourage local residents to plant!

On Sunday afternoon local residents braved the autumnal drizzle to help get new plants and bulbs into the planters and baskets on Ladywell and Algernon Roads. The group planted sixty tulip bulbs, twenty daffodils and a host of new plants to give the planters and baskets colour and vigour over the winter and through to next spring. A tremendous effort was made to keep the locality looking vibrant through the months to come.
